The sky is a little bit cloudy this morning and Silas is hoping for rain. They spent most of yesterday irrigating the garden. This is done with a manual foot pump. I took a turn on for about 15 minutes. Silas claims the young man helping him can pump that thing all day. I'm am noticing some effects of altitude when I saw or do other manual tasks. Yesterday I spent some time in the tool shed. I straightened it up and finding what tools are available. Ann and Ryan spent a lot of time on their computers working and preparing for their classes. Caleb and I spent some time in the morning working various puzzles in my new puzzle book.
Children are always coming into the yard to play with Gracie and Caleb. We have a volleyball net and the kids love to play around that. Ann and Andrea organized a duck duck goose game for about 25 kids. Sometimes our kids are feeling a little overwhelmed by all the attention they get from the neighborhood children. We do attract a lot of attention wherever we go. As we passed the school the other day the whole school body poured out to greet us. I took a few pictures and the children were very excited to see themselves in the photos.
We have had guests at almost every major meal. They are very interested to question us about United States of America. We are equally interested to question them about their tribes and the situation here in Kenya. Clear communication is always a concern. We are doing better and are working hard to integrate our lives into the lives of Silas and his wife. His mother, two nieces and a nephew also are living here. They're all working very hard to make our lives comfortable.
Ann and Gracie took a walk down to see the new lamb and the new calf Yesterday morning. Later Gracie got to feed the chickens and enjoyed it very much By supper time there was one less chicken. It was the one who kept trying to get away and landed in the pot for supper.
Today we are looking forward to going into Ziwa to see the college building for the first time. We have registered Ann's phone with a Kenyan company. If you get a call from this number don't be surprised. 0708280713. Continue to pray for us as school begins Monday morning. Thanks for your support.
Great to hear things are going well. Hey Art as far as the beard goes... tell you what, if you grow one I'll grow one. We'll see who looks better by your return. I'll alert the troops on Sunday. For Caleb...any luck on that snake yet? Love you guys.
